When We Stop Paying The Bill - What Happens To Our Blog?

I am so glad I found bear blog because the following question has been on my mind recently as a blogger:
When we can't pay the bill anymore - what happens to our blog?
Yes, the obvious answer is we lose it. Usually. Except for bear blog - well for as long as bear blog exists! But reading the plans that Bear Blog has for continuation, it sounds solid.
All of these other paid services, Wordpress, Hostinger, things I've used in the past to create and build blogs...they expire when the payments stop.
Payments could stop because we've passed on from this world OR we cannot afford the expensive fees anymore!
And I don't need all of the junk they try to sell folks on...
After thinking about this a lot, I tried to find something that could last in the event that I didn't want to pay the large blog bill anymore or something happened to me. Not that I'm terribly concerned with legacy at all, I am fully prepared to lose everything when I meet death one day.
It's moreso not wanting to pay hundreds per year for a blog BUT ALSO a lot of companies over time lose ethics or never had any to begin with or they get aquired by another company, etc.
I cannot stand AI. Yet all those companies I was using to blog with started pumping their sites full of it. YUCK!
But then I'm stuck. I've paid for X years or X amount of time for those blogs and if I want to move somewhere else, it's a hassle.
Which is why, NOW, I am fully moving on to Bear Blog, paid the lifetime fee, and I'm done.
Yes, there are loads of free sites that will hang onto your blog for as long as they exist - HOWEVER - they also love to steal your data lol They love to report on you to the government so they can crush your dissent. and so on.
